6 Ways to Bookmark Your Favorite Folders in Windows 10

If you organize your Windows 10 folders now, you will not have any problem finding your most important files later. You can mark your favorite folders in Windows for easy access. Here are some ways to do it.

Folder shortcuts

The easiest way to link to your favorite folders is to create a shortcut. Windows allows you to create a shortcut to any folder in the Windows File Explorer. When you double-click a shortcut, you immediately go to the folder location.

Once you have created a shortcut to your folder, you can place it in a more convenient location, such as the desktop or a folder containing other shortcuts.

To create a shortcut, right-click an appropriate folder on the desktop or in the Windows File Explorer, and then click "Create Shortcut."

This creates a shortcut in the same location as your folder, but you can manually move it to another location.

Otherwise, right-click your folder, click "Send To", and then click "Desktop (Create Shortcut)".

This creates a shortcut that links to the selected folder and appears immediately on your desktop.

Unless you do not have hidden, the Windows taskbar is always present. It offers immediate access to the programs you use most often. If you use the Windows File Explorer as a shortcut in the taskbar, you can quickly access your favorite Windows folders with the help of shortcut lists.

If you do not know what a list of shortcuts is, right-click on Windows File Explorer in the taskbar. a list of your recently viewed folders appears. For convenience, you can pin your favorite folders to the top of this list.

By default, the Jump List in Windows File Explorer displays about 12 items, but you can increase this number if you want.

To add a folder to this pinned list, drag it to the shortcut of the Windows File Explorer on the taskbar.

Your folder now appears as a pinned item in your drop list. If you want to delete it later, right-click the Windows File Explorer shortcut, hover over your pinned folder, and then click the pin-deletion icon that appears to the right.

Similar to your list of hops from the taskbar, the Windows File Explorer has a navigation pane on the left side with a quick access list. As its name indicates, you can pin here your favorite folders for quick access.

The Quick Access list also feeds the hop list from the File Explorer taskbar. When you pin an item to Quick Access, the same folder should appear when you right-click on File Explorer on the taskbar.

You can add items to the Quick Access list in several ways. Right-click one of your favorite folders, and then click "Pin on Quick Access."

If you use Windows File Explorer, you can also add folders manually to the Quick Access list. To do this, simply drag your file on the text "Quick Access". This pinpoints your folder and allows you to access it at any time.

Pinning folders to the Start menu

The Windows 10 Start Menu offers more than just a list of your installed programs. You can customize the tile list to the right of installed programs with shortcuts to applications, settings, and folders.

The Start menu is a good place to add some of your favorite folders to your favorites. Open the File Explorer and locate the folders for which you want to bookmark. Right-click on it and click on "Pin it to the beginning".

Your pinned folders appear as tiles at the bottom of the list. From there, you can move your folders to larger positions or create a group of thumbnails to organize them.

Toolbar custom toolbars

The taskbar toolbars are a feature of the old school available in Windows 10. They allow you to customize the taskbar with toolbars giving you access to features additional information or shortcuts.

For example, you can create a custom toolbar on the taskbar to easily access all files in any of your favorite folders.

To create a custom taskbar toolbar, right-click on the taskbar, go to the "Toolbars" submenu, and then click "New Bar" d & # 39; tools. "

In the selection menu, choose one of your favorite folders and click on "Select Folder".

Libraries of the file explorer

Microsoft has decided to hide the libraries tab from the File Explorer, but this feature is still available. To use it, just bring back the libraries tab in your navigation pane.

To re-enable library access, right-click the white space of the file browser's navigation pane, and then click "Show Libraries."

Give your new library a name, and then double-click it to open it.
