Microsoft / Sony
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you know that pick up any variation of Playstation 5 or the Xbox Series S or X it’s super difficult. But don’t give up just yet. Best Buy will restock all next-gen consoles at its online store at 9:00 a.m. EST on December 15.
Of course, you’ll have to be quick as these consoles are in high demand and are likely to sell out within minutes of their availability. Our advice? Create a Best Buy account if you don’t already have one. Then save your billing, shipping, and credit card information to your account for faster payment. Heck, keep a tab open for the console you want to grab and refresh it right at 9am.
The PlayStation 5 costs $ 499, and if you want the disc-less version, you’re looking at $ 399. If you’re more of an Xbox guy, the X Series will set you back $ 499, while the S Series is the most affordable of the bunch, comfortably seated at $ 299. And if you choose the S-Series purely on the basis of price, know that it lack of optical disc drive.
It’s no surprise that Best Buy only sells them online. The big box retailer said earlier this year that it won’t be available in stores for any of the new consoles until early 2021. The company is likely trying to cut lines outside its stores to reduce the risk of an ongoing global pandemic.
Have you ever bought a next-gen console? If not, this might be your last chance to grab one before the New Year begins. But if you miss something, you can subscribe to notifications just in case they come back in stock.
