Alexa comes to be more powerful on Windows 10. Amazon previously brought Alexa to Windows, but the waking words only worked on some PCs. Alexa can now run in the background and listen to "Alexa" commands on any PC.
The voice wizard of Amazon is more powerful than Cortana's built-in wizard of Windows 10. It works with many more more complex devices, for example. But until this update, Alexa did not support the waking words on all PCs. Wake up words only work on some computers; on others, you have to click on the Alexa button to start talking. Now you can just say "Alexa" and start talking on any PC.
To get Alexa for Windows 10, install the Alexa app from the shop. Launch it and follow the installation process to connect with your Amazon account.
Allow Alexa to access your microphone when prompted. Finally, you will be asked to activate the hands-free mode. In hands-free mode, Alexa will listen to the word "Alexa" in the background, as does an Amazon Echo. This can use more battery on a laptop. Click "Enable Handsfree" during the installation process to activate it.
By default, Alexa will start automatically when you start your PC. He has to go into the background to listen to the word "Alexa".
Say "Alexa" out loud and start talking to use Alexa on your PC.
To turn off the hands-free mode and save battery life, open the Alexa app and click or tap the "Hands Free" button located to the right of the Alexa blue button. You can still open the Alexa app and click the Alexa button to start talking to Alexa.
Alexa will also stop listening when you close the application. Reopen Alexa to use it again.
