Today, Garmin announced the new member of its smartwatch range: the Forerunner 745. The beautiful watch is specially designed for triathletes, with features tailored for running, swimming and cycling to better help athletes “seek new personal bests”.

In the press release, Garmin said, “The Forerunner 745 will monitor statistics and analyze data to help athletes achieve their goals.” The watch features preloaded activity profiles (including those for triathlons, track running, and pool swimming). This allows athletes to effectively track progress and switch between activities with the push of a button. The release of the watch comes at a perfect time, when athletes have more time than ever to focus on training.

The 745 is the successor of the Forerunner 735XT, and has additional features to help triathletes train more effectively. He’s just as obsessed with tracking stats as you are, and lets you monitor training load, VO2 max, S02, HR abnormal and more at a glance. The battery life of the 745 is decent, with up to 7 days of battery life in standard smartwatch mode, up to 6 hours in GPS mode with music, up to 16 hours in GPS mode without music and up to at 9 p.m. in UltraTrac mode.

It offers daily workout suggestions, suggests a recovery time between your workouts, and is resistant to water, sweat, and bumpy bike rides. There’s even a Race Predictor feature that takes into account your training history and fitness level to show you your estimated time of arrival. This tool also allows you to set a goal based on that time to help you reach your ideal arrival time.

The Forerunner 745 also tracks your heart rate, exercise volume, cycling power, running dynamics, and other features. Its multi-GNSS access means you’ll have access to navigation satellites even when training in harsh, remote environments. The watch has a few other features that you can use when you’re not working out, like Garmin Pay, smart notifications, and the ability to sync and play your favorite music.

The watch is now available for sale on the Garmin website for $ 499.99. It’s available in four colors – black, neotropic, magma red, and stone white – and is perfect for wearing both during and outside of your workouts.
