Washing your hands today is more important than ever, thanks to the spread of COVID-19. But do you know how to wash your hands? You may have heard 20 seconds, but the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend a more thorough procedure it takes about 40 seconds. Now Google Assistant is here to help you with a song that guides you through the steps.
To hear the song, open Google Assistant and say “help me wash my hands.” If you are on a smartphone, you will see and hear the lyrics of the song. Google Home users will see a bubble image (seen above) while it sings the song.
You may think that forty seconds is a lot, but WHO handwashing method will help you access all of the crevices and keep you from forgetting neglected areas like your nails and between your fingers. To follow this advice, Google Doodle celebrates Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis, widely recognized as the person to discover the medical benefits of hand washing.
If nothing else, however, you can continue to follow CDC orientation to wash your hands for 20 seconds. Happy birthday twice should do the trick.
