Android offers many options to customize the look of your device, including your font style. If you want to change your Android font, you can use the built-in settings or a custom launcher.
Due to the fragmented nature of Android, changing your fonts on different manufacturers and versions of Android varies. The following steps are confirmed to work on a Samsung device running Android 9 Pie.
Editing built-in font settings
Some Android devices and versions have built-in settings that allow you to change your font style. If your phone or tablet does not have these options, you will not be able to change the font style without rooting your device, which we do not recommend.
If you have the option to change your font settings, go to the "Settings" menu of your Android device by sliding the notifications pane down and pressing the gear icon at the top to right. You can also access your "Settings" menu from the application tray.
In the "Settings" menu, scroll down and press the "Display" option.
The "View" menu may vary depending on your Android device. Tap "Size and Font Style" if you own a Samsung device. This may appear as "Font" or another variation on other phones and tablets.
In the "Font size and style" menu, press the "Font Style" button.
You will have a list of preinstalled font styles available to you. "Default" is, as its name indicates, the default font used on your device.
Tap one of the other available fonts to access it. The change should happen automatically.
Samsung Galaxy device owners can install other fonts using the Samsung Galaxy Store. Under the list of preinstalled fonts, press "Download Fonts" to load the Samsung Galaxy Store. From there, download one of the available font options by pressing the download button next to it.
Once your new font style is installed, return to the "Font Style" menu and press to change.
Use a custom launcher
If you do not have the option to change the font style on your Android device, you can use a custom launcher instead. Two popular launchers that you can choose to use are: Nova Launcher and Action Launcher.
These two launchers will display custom fonts for you, but these will only be displayed in the launcher itself. This means that the font you see elsewhere in your Android settings and in other applications will remain the default font of Android.

Other third-party font style applications
A number of font style apps are available on the Google Play Store. These applications are not generally recommended because most users will not be able to change the default font style used by your device.
Some, like Stylish text, will allow you to write a "stylish text" in messaging applications such as WhatsApp that give the impression that you are using a different font. These applications use custom symbols to display stylized text rather than making changes to your font style.
Other applications, like Elegant fonts, use the same process that allows users to install fonts using the Samsung Galaxy Store. If you have a Samsung device, it is recommended to use the integrated "Download Fonts" method above.
