How to force a refresh rate of 90Hz
If you do not worry about battery life and want the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL to always operate at 90Hz, you're forcing the best display. We do not recommend it because it will drain your battery faster.
Before you can access the option to force a higher refresh rate, you must enable the developer options. To do this, swipe down twice to access the Quick Settings tile. Tap on the gear icon to open the Settings menu. Otherwise, open the "Setting" application in the application tray.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu and select the "About Phone" option.
Locate the "Build Number" element at the bottom of the page and press it quickly. After a few seconds, you will be asked to authenticate using the password on the lock screen (password, PIN, etc.).
Now that the setting is enabled, press the Back button and select the "System" option.
Scroll through the list and press "Advanced" to expand the full menu.
Find and select the "Developer Options" button.
Use the search tool to locate "Force refresh rate to 90Hz" or scroll down and select the option in the "Debug" section.
Select the button next to "Force refresh rate to 90Hz" to disable the function.
Again, we do not recommend for the 90Hz refresh rate. Almost everyone who has used Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL has commented on the battery life of the phone. Forcing the higher refresh rate will kill the device faster than usual.
