It can be frustrating not being able to find your downloaded files. It can also happen on Android devices, which have file systems like any other operating system. Here’s how to find downloaded files on Android.
Every Android device has some kind of file manager app preinstalled. On Google Pixel phones, it is simply called “Files”. Samsung Galaxy phones call it “My Files”.
You also have the option to install another file manager from the Google Play Store. The one we love is the “Files by Google”App. In addition to allowing you to view downloads, it has practical tools to free up storage space.
The downloaded files will be saved in the aptly named “Downloads” folder on your device. To get started, open the file manager on your Android phone or tablet. In this example, we are using the Google Pixel “Files” app.
The next step is to locate the “Downloads” folder. Tap the hamburger menu icon in the upper left corner to open the side menu.
Select the “Downloads” option from the list.
All your downloaded files are in this folder.
The process is even easier if you use the “Files by Google” application. First, open the app on your Android device. Make sure you are on the “Browse” tab.
Tap the “Downloads” option, then you will see all of your downloaded documents and files.
That’s all! In the vast majority of cases, anything you download from a web browser such as Google Chrome will be saved in the “Downloads” folder on your Android phone or tablet.
