It’s always annoying when an app isn’t performing the way it should. Sometimes the only thing you can do to resolve the issue is to force quit the app. You can do this on your Android TV as well as on your smartphone. Here’s how.
There are several reasons why you might need to force a close Android TV app. Video streaming may be choppy, the app is slow and slow, or it just isn’t responding. Either way, force quitting the app will usually fix the problem, and it’s easy to do.
Either in the annoying application or from the Android TV home screen, press the Home button on your remote twice to display the “Recent applications” menu. The main purpose of this menu is to make it easier to quickly switch to the previously opened application, so that it will be selected first.
Use the D-pad on the remote to highlight the app you want to force close.
Then click the down button on your remote to move the app preview to the “X” icon.
Press the “Select” or “Enter” button on your remote to close the application.
The Android TV app is now closed.
As mentioned above, forcing an app to quit on Android TV will usually fix the issues you have with apps misbehaving. If you are still having problems, you should try restarting your set-top box or smart TV.
