Children and adults need an occasional break to watch a screen. Fortunately, Microsoft family groups on Windows 10 allow you to set a healthier schedule for all family members.
Microsoft Family Groups allow you to group all of your family members who have a free Microsoft account under one digital roof. On the Microsoft Family Groups website, you can access a number of easy-to-use settings and limit screen time for yourself or your children.
To start, you can create a family group either directly on Windows 10 or the website. After inviting everyone to your family group, find the member whose screen time you want to limit the main page of your Microsoft Family account. Click on “Screen Time” under the name of this person to open the screen time management page.
All screen time restrictions are disabled for new accounts, so enable the “Windows 10” option to open the screen time calendar.
In the weekly calendar, click on any day’s calendar to change it.
In the daily programming menu, you can create one or more periods during which screen time is authorized using the drop-down menus “From” and “To”. When you’re done, click “Save,” then repeat the process for each day of the week you want to change.
You can also use the drop-down menu under “Time limit” to limit the total time that an account can spend on Windows 10. For example, you can authorize an hour of computer use at any time between 10 am and 2 p.m.
You can also select “Blocked” to change this schedule when the screen time is blocked. You can also apply these settings to any other Windows 10 device, as well as Xbox One, as it is a Microsoft product. To do this, activate the option “Use a schedule for all devices” at the top.
You also don’t have to worry about losing your job due to screen time limits. You will receive a notification when your screen time is almost used up.
