Can’t find a configuration option on your iPhone or iPad? Apple makes it easy to search through the settings to find what you need. It’s such a small feature that you can overlook it if you don’t know it. Here’s how to use it.
To find the search box, open the Settings app and swipe down on its main screen. You will see a search bar appear at the top of the screen.
Enter what you are looking for in the search bar using the on-screen keyboard. Potential matches will appear in a list below.
When you find what you are looking for in the list, tap it, and you will immediately be taken to the appropriate Settings screen.
From there you can go back to the main Settings screen to do a new search or just go back to your regular business.
You can also search for settings without opening the settings application via Spotlight Search. For example, if you are looking for VPN settings, you can slide your finger to Spotlight search from your home screen and search for “VPN”. You will see the VPN settings panel appear in the results list and you can open it with one touch.
