TCL is fair technology for the future today; he also announced some products ready to buy in the present. This includes two tablets, a set of true wireless headphones and a smart watch for the elderly.
The choice is yours with two tablets
TCL today announced two tablets, named TCL 10 TABMAX and TCL 10 TABMID. Annoying names aside, they at least give you an idea of what to expect. Both are affordable tablets, but the TABMAX is naturally the bigger and more powerful option.
The TABMAX is a 10.1 inch tablet running Android 10. It runs on a MediaTek MT8768T processor, 4 GB of RAM, and has 64 GB of storage with a MicroSD slot for expansion. The display operates at a resolution of 2000 x 1200. It also has a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The Standard Edition costs $ 249, and the LTE model costs $ 299 (no word on US pricing yet). Both models include a stylus and type cover.
TABMID, as the name suggests, is a lower quality tablet than TABMAX. You will only get an 8 inch 1200 x 1299 screen with heavy bezels around it. Rather than using MediaTek for the processor again, the TABMID packs a Snapdragon 665 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with a MicroSD card slot. This time you get an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Joining this tablet will cost you 229 €.
Both tablets will launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
A set of mid-grade true wireless headphones
TCL also announced a set of true wireless earphones dubbed MOVEAUDIO S200. Headphones are more affordable and will cost $ 100. For your money, you can choose between white, black, or teal. The heads are rated IP54 – good enough to withstand water, dust, and swear words. TCL indicates that the MOVEAUDIO S200 come with electronic noise reduction, touch controls, wear detection and compatibility with Google Assistant or Siri.
What it doesn’t come with is long battery life. Each charge gets you around 3.5 hours. With the case, you’ll get about 23 hours of playback before you need a wall outlet. The headphones will be released worldwide at the end of September.
A smart watch for your aging loved ones
Finally, TCL has a new smartwatch that is aimed squarely at seniors. The MOVETIME family watch (TCL is on fire with the names) starts out like many smartwatches, with a heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, and touchscreen. But that’s what the features do that set it apart.
It’s like an SOS collar in the form of a smartwatch. They will remind carriers to take medication and advise the family if they detect a fall or irregular heartbeat.
Thanks to a 4G connection, it can handle SMS and two-way conversations to keep seniors living alone in contact with others, and it has an SOS button on the side.
It comes in dark gray or black and will be available in the fall for € 229.
